About

In 2014, Marla Hoppenstedt left her long time job at Taylor Clark to open her own framing business, Studio de Chene. The name, which means Studio of the Oaks, was inspired by the massive live oaks in front of the building.

Starting off small, Studio de Chene began with only 1,000 square feet; after gaining more customers and experience, we grew and added another thousand square feet. Studio de Chene updated its home base and added new flooring and lights in order to have the best possible framing experience for both customers and employees. Marla’s husband, David Hoppenstedt, shortly joined the business and took on an integral role in the shop. He handles inventory and frame building for the shop, so Marla can put all her efforts into art and framing for her customers.

Studio de Chene is now home to multiple part-time and full-time employees and has remained busy since its opening in 2014. Our shop also has multiple artists and artwork available including many local artists who we keep an open door and a strong relationship with. At Studio de Chene, we continue to strive to meet our customer’s vision; you entrust us with your beloved art and memories, and we take pride in giving you the best possible experience and product you could ever dream of.
