Installation Process
At Studio de Chene, the process of installing art in frames is a meticulous and collaborative endeavor. It begins with a thoughtful consultation, where we discuss your vision, preferences, and the unique characteristics of your artwork. Our expert team then carefully selects the perfect frame, considering factors such as style, material, and conservation needs. With precise measurements and attention to detail, we skillfully install the artwork within the frame, ensuring it is secure and impeccably presented. Each step of the installation process is executed with precision and care, from meticulously fitting the backing and matting to applying protective coatings for long-term preservation. Whether it’s a cherished family heirloom or a contemporary masterpiece, we treat each piece with the utmost respect and craftsmanship, ensuring it is beautifully showcased and preserved for generations to come. Trust us to bring your artistic vision to life with our unparalleled expertise in framing and installation.

Custom Matting
Matting enhances the visual appeal of artwork by providing a border that draws the eye to the artwork, protects the artwork from direct contact with the glass, and helps prevent damage by creating a small air space. Mats come in various colors, textures, and depths, allowing for customization to complement the artwork and the decor of the space where it will be displayed.
French matting is a traditional art form originating in France. They are designed with delicate watercolor lines and often with panels of hand-crafted, marbled paper or powdered. A gilded-bevel can also be added to enhance the design.
Fabric matting is a great option for amplifying the design of a project; it creates a rich, tactile element that compliments the artwork through a variety of colors, textures, and designs. We have an extensive selection of fabrics.

Glass Options
Conservation clear glass offers high-level preservation benefits for artwork and valuable documents. It is specially coated to block 99% of harmful UV rays, which can cause fading and deterioration over time. Conservation clear glass maintains excellent clarity, ensuring that the artwork’s colors and details are not obscured. It is best used for framing items of significant value or sentimental importance, as it helps maintain the integrity and appearance of the pieces.
Museum glass is considered a premium framing glass that offers exceptional clarity and protective qualities. It features anti-reflective coating and UV protection, blocking 99% of harmful UV rays to prevent fading and damage to artwork and photographs. The anti-reflective coating minimizes glare, providing a clear, unobstructed view of the framed piece from all angles, making it ideal for preserving and displaying valuable and sensitive items in galleries, museums, and homes.
Museum acrylic is a high-quality, optically clear acrylic sheet designed for framing and protecting valuable artwork and photographs. It offers 99% UV protection, shielding pieces from harmful light exposure that can cause fading and deterioration. Unlike glass, museum acrylic is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it safer and easier to handle, especially for large or frequently moved frames. It also features an anti-reflective coating, ensuring minimal glare and optimal viewing clarity. Museum acrylic is the preferred choice for conservation-grade framing.
